BHAVAJAN KUMAR
Bharatanatyam Dancer
Bhavajan Kumar is one of the most sensitive Bharatanatyam dancers of his generation. Blessed with a captivating stage presence, precision in movement and a deep devotion to the art form, he is a natural artiste. Bhavajan Kumar has worked with celebrated Bharatanatyam exponents like Shijith Nambiar and continues to grow artistically under the guidance of Leela Samson and Jyotsna Narayanan under whom he has matured. He also trained in nattuvangam and vocal music from Bhagavathula Seetharama Sharma. Bhavajan is keen on presenting the art with sincerity, keeping its essence intact. He is a recipient of the Vazhuvoor Ramiah Pillai Endowment in 2011, the Pandit Durga Lal Endowment and Kelucharan Mohapatra Endowment from Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, the Yuva Kala Bharathi from Bharat Kalachar, Chennai and the Vasantha Lakshmi Narasimhachari Endowment from Narada Gana Sabha. What has truly enhanced his understanding however, are the opportunities he has had to collaborate with different artistes on various themes. Bhavajan has had the privilege of performing at premier dance festivals in India and across the globe. He has had the honour of performing in the august presence of The Honorable Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, the former Prime Minister of Canada, Stephen Harper, and former Presidents of India: late Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Pratibha Patil.

RADHE JAGGI
Bharatanatyam Dancer
Radhe Jaggi, a graduate of Kalakshetra Foundation, is a disciple of Leela Samson. She has a post diploma in Arts Management from Dakshina Chitra, Chennai. Radhe spent the first two years of her career performing in over sixty temples across Tamil Nadu. She has since then performed in leading venues like the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Brahma Gana Sabha, Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, the Spirit of Youth Festival conducted by the prestigious Madras Music Academy, the Soma Festival for Shankaraa Foundation in Bangalore, Bharat Bhavan in Bhopal, ITC Sangeet Research Academy in Kolkata, Tamil Isai Sangam in Thiruvaiyaru, and the Arudra Festival at the Chidambaram Nataraja Temple, among many other temple festivals. She is currently a performing member of Spanda Dance Company, directed by Leela Samson. She was invited to South Korea as part of an InKo Centre initiative with the performance theatre group ‘Tuida’. This unique experience allowed her to collaborate with fellow artists from India and South Korea for nearly a month, which concluded with a performance in the Gwanju Arts Festival in September, 2012. Radhe was also invited to perform for fundraising events in Penang and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in September 2013. The following month of October (2013), she performed at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge University, and was invited to perform for a select audience at the House of Commons, Westminster Abbey, London. Radhe is the recipient of the Natya Ratna from Trinity Fine Arts, Chennai in 2017 and the Rukmini Devi Endowment Award from Sri Krishna Gana Sabha in 2016. She also received the Natya Kalai Arasi title from the Tamizh Isai Sangam, awarded to her following her performance in Thiruvaiyaru, Tamil Nadu in January, 2013. Her years studying and practicing yoga add to her understanding of the movements and expression involved in Bharatanatyam. Radhe hopes to continue the tradition of the great Rukmini Devi Arundale, by striving to bring a blend of rich abhinaya and crisp adavus to her performances.
